Mississippi's Walk For Diabetes
Over 3,000 walkers laced up their shoes last year to walk for Mississippi's No. 1 health problem– diabetes.
Legions of walkers, runners, bicyclers, skaters and strollers alike join friends, family members, co-workers and pets to walk for a healthier Mississippi each year at Mississippi’s Walk for Diabetes, held in various locations around the state.
Sponsored by the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi (DFM) – the state’s only nonprofit organization that provides diabetes research, education, patient services, children’s programs and advocacy to Mississippians of all ages, – the annual Walk for Diabetes draws hundreds of participants. Participants come to show their support for not only the DFM’s mission of service to the 346,500 Mississippians with diabetes but also for their loved ones fighting the disease.
Walk with the DFM and others from around the state in memory of a loved one with diabetes, and help raise awareness about this chronic disease. Call 1-877-DFM-CURE to find a walk site near you.
