Empowerment/Community Health Fairs and Screenings
The DFM offers a variety of programs focusing on raising awareness of the seriousness of diabetes as well as providing education for patients and professionals, support groups and services for people with diabetes.
The DFM participates actively in community health fairs and screenings across the state. Through the "Empowerment" program, the DFM provides diabetes education to high-risk populations and blood-glucose screenings at minority churches and community centers around the state.
